About the coaching program

  • Which coaching tier is right for me?
If you are new to factor investing or Portfolio123, the Beginner level is the recommended starting point. If you already operate frameworks and want to improve risk management and robustness, choose Intermediate. If your interest lies in machine learning applications and rigorous validation, choose Advanced. If you are uncertain, the introductory consultation is designed to help you select the right starting point.
  • How long until I can deploy my first framework operationally?
Beginner-level clients typically deploy a first framework operationally within four to six weeks. Full Program clients reach institutional-quality workflows within six to eight weeks, depending on schedule.
  • What happens after the coaching ends?
Clients leave the program with a complete, repeatable workflow they can operate independently. Many clients continue refining their process on their own; some return for advanced modules or for technical consulting engagements on specific projects.
  • Will this work for my specific situation?
The program is tailored to each client's objectives, whether they manage personal capital or work within an institutional mandate. The introductory consultation is designed to assess fit before any commitment.

Practicalities

  • How much time per week is required?
Most clients schedule one to three sessions per week. Each session is followed by assignments, so additional independent work is expected between sessions.
  • Will there be homework between sessions?
Yes. Each session is followed by assignments that allow the client to apply the material covered.
  • Do I need prior investing experience?
A working understanding of basic financial fundamentals (balance sheets, income statements) is required. No prior quantitative or programming experience is necessary for the Beginner level.
  • Do I need a paid Portfolio123 plan?
A paid plan is recommended: the Backtest plan for Beginner, the Portfolio plan for Intermediate, and Ultimate + AI for Advanced.
  • Can I apply frameworks to my brokerage?
Yes. Frameworks can be implemented manually or connected to a brokerage account via Portfolio123's integrations. The client is responsible for all execution and operational decisions.
  • Is this a Portfolio123 onboarding session?
No. The program is focused on the design and operation of factor investing frameworks. It is not platform onboarding training.
